The viral sensation behind the chart-topping hit “FA9LA,” Bahraini rapper Flipperachi, has officially cancelled his debut India tour. Originally scheduled to perform in Mumbai and Bengaluru this week, the artist cited the escalating war tensions in the Middle East as the primary reason for his inability to travel.
The announcement came just days before the rapper was set to take the stage, leaving thousands of fans—who had propelled his track from the film Dhurandhar to global fame—disappointed. While the tour is on hold, organizers emphasize that safety and geopolitical stability remain the priority for the international artist.
Flipperachi was the headline act for the UN40 Music & Beyond festival in Bengaluru, scheduled for March 14–15, 2026, at the NICE Grounds. The festival, known for its eclectic mix of music and creator culture, had centered much of its marketing on the Bahraini star’s first-ever Indian performance.
In addition to the Bengaluru festival, Flipperachi had a solo concert scheduled at Phoenix Marketcity in Mumbai on March 13. Ticketing platforms, including District by Zomato, have now moved the events to “Cancelled” status. Saregama India, the label and promoter behind the UN40 tour, released an official statement on Instagram confirming the news:
“In light of the current situation in the Middle East and Bahrain, Flipperachi will not be able to perform at UN40 this weekend. While we were excited to have him on the lineup, the circumstances make it difficult for him to travel at this time.”
Hussam Aseem, professionally known as Flipperachi, became an overnight household name in India following the release of the spy thriller Dhurandhar. The track “FA9LA” (meaning “Interval” or “Break”) featured prominently during actor Akshaye Khanna’s high-octane entry scene, sparking a social media firestorm.
The song’s infectious Arabic hip-hop beats, blended with subtle Indian percussion, transcended language barriers. It dominated Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts for months, even earning Flipperachi a spot in the Guinness World Records for topping Billboard Arabia charts. For many Indian fans, this tour was supposed to be a celebratory “thank you” from the artist to the country that embraced his music so fervently.
The cancellation highlights the far-reaching impact of the current conflict in the Middle East. As a resident of Bahrain, Flipperachi faces significant logistical hurdles and safety concerns regarding international travel. Sources close to the artist suggest that while he was “deeply saddened” to miss the tour, the volatility of the region made the multi-city trip impossible to execute.
Earlier in the year, Flipperachi expressed his excitement for the visit, stating, “India has shown me incredible love. Mumbai is a city I’ve always wanted to perform in. The energy, the people, it all feels very familiar.”
Despite the loss of its international headliner, the UN40 Music & Beyond festival organizers have confirmed that the Bengaluru event will proceed as planned. The two-day festival still boasts a massive lineup of Indian talent, including:
- Himesh Reshammiya: The veteran composer and singer.
- Talwiinder: The rising indie-pop sensation.
- Raja Kumari: The Grammy-nominated rapper and songwriter.
- Aditya Rikhari & Shalmali Kholgade: Delivering fresh hits to the Bengaluru crowd.
The festival will also feature a dedicated comedy stage and creator meet-and-greets, ensuring that attendees still receive a full “Music & Beyond” experience.
While the March 2026 dates are cancelled, industry insiders suggest that both the artist and Saregama are keen on rescheduling the tour once the geopolitical situation stabilizes. For now, fans who purchased tickets through BookMyShow or District are advised to check their email for refund processing details.
Flipperachi has hinted at further collaborations within the Dhurandhar cinematic universe, with rumours suggesting he may provide music for the sequel. If these reports hold true, his eventual debut on Indian soil may coincide with the next big Bollywood blockbuster.
