Addressing the controversy directly through his social media channels, Riteish Deshmukh clarified the circumstances surrounding his outfit choice. He explained that the T-shirt in question was a formal part of the official promotional campaign for Raja Shivaji.

According to the actor, he had arrived at the party venue directly from the sets after wrapping up his professional promotional commitments for the day. Due to the tight schedule, he had not had the opportunity to change his attire before joining the celebration, leading to his appearance in the promotional T-shirt.

The actor-director reaffirmed his immense love, loyalty, and unwavering respect for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, emphasizing that he would never knowingly do anything to disrespect the historical icon.

Beyond the criticism of his attire, the actor faced speculation regarding his sobriety at the event. Riteish firmly denied all rumours suggesting that he was intoxicated. In his statement, he declared that he has never consumed alcohol in his life, categorically dismissing the claims circulating on social media.

Furthermore, Riteish shed light on the source of the viral video. He pointed out that the footage was recorded and circulated by an uninvited individual who was not part of the film’s cast or crew gathering. He suggested that the video was taken out of context to generate unnecessary controversy.
