Reports indicate that the high-profile project was first screened for the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) examining committee back in December 2025. The committee reportedly suggested multiple cuts and indicated that the film could secure a U/A certificate only after these requested modifications were implemented. Demonstrating full compliance, the producers accepted the recommendations, made the required edits, and resubmitted the film.
However, the back-and-forth process resulted in the film being stuck without a censor certificate for over seven months. Originally slated for a grand theatrical release on January 9, the movie missed its Makar Sankranti/Pongal festival window. After weathering a lengthy administrative storm, the CBFC finally cleared the film, paving the way for its theatrical debut on July 23.
