During Marvel Studios‘ blockbuster Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con, studio president Kevin Feige sent shockwaves through the convention center by officially announcing that a brand-new Ghost Rider standalone film is officially in active development, slated for a theatrical release in 2028.
Headlining the project as the iconic motorcycle-riding Spirit of Vengeance is none other than Oscar-nominated star Ryan Gosling. The casting brings an end to years of rampant fan speculation and public interest, marking a monumental milestone for both the actor and the ever-expanding superhero franchise.
The auditorium lights dimmed as a haunting revving sound echoed through Hall H, immediately putting thousands of ecstatic fans on high alert. As Marvel Studios continues to map out Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, anticipation is reaching a fever pitch with two monumental blockbusters heading to theaters: Spider-Man: Brand New Day, releasing on 31st July’26 and Avengers: Doomsday, releasing on 18th Dec’26.
