Yashvardhan Ahuja to Make Bollywood Debut in Horror-Comedy Hero Ki Horrorine

Bollywood is preparing to welcome another prominent star kid as veteran actor Govinda’s son, Yashvardhan Ahuja, officially steps into the film industry. Yashvardhan is set to headline the upcoming big-screen entertainer Hero Ki Horrorine, which blends supernatural thrills, romance, and non-stop laughter.

The makers have officially locked a theatrical release date of January 7, 2027. The project is generating massive buzz not only for launching a fresh face but also for marking filmmaker Sajid Khan‘s return to the director’s chair after 12 years.

Known for directing commercial entertainers, Sajid previously helmed films including Heyy Babyy, Housefull, Housefull 2 and Humshakals. His return with a horror-comedy represents another attempt to combine broad comedy with a mainstream genre concept.

The director’s comeback also comes after a lengthy period away from filmmaking following allegations of sexual harassment made against him by several women during India’s #MeToo movement in 2018.

Hero Ki Horrorine brings together an eclectic mix of seasoned performers and breakout young stars. Yashvardhan Ahuja is paired alongside breakout Laapataa Ladies star Nitanshi Goel, who plays the female lead.

Adding an extraordinary personal touch to the project, Govinda’s wife and Yashvardhan’s mother, Sunita Ahuja, is also making a special acting debut in the film, playing her real-life son’s on-screen mother. Speaking about the rare collaboration, Sunita shared in an interview, “Perhaps it is the first time in the industry that a mother and son are being launched together.”

Although Govinda himself is not listed among the film’s cast, his influence naturally adds curiosity around his son’s debut. Yashvardhan will face the challenge of establishing an identity of his own while carrying the expectations associated with one of Bollywood’s most recognisable entertainment families.

The supporting cast features a stellar line-up of comedic and character actors, including Jamie Lever, Chunky Panday, Brijendra Kala, and Simrat Kaur Randhawa, ensuring a high-energy blend of humour and chaos.

The project is backed by some of the most prominent names in Indian media. It is a Jai Ho Media Ventures production, presented by Balaji Telefilms Ltd. and produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R. Kapoor, and Amar Butala.

Amar Butala, who has previously steered major box-office successes like Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Kesari, and Mission Majnu, joins forces with Ektaa R. Kapoor to mount the film on a grand scale. Meanwhile, the film marks a high-profile directorial comeback for Sajid Khan, who steers the horror-comedy genre following his past directorial ventures like Heyy Babyy and the Housefull franchise.

As pre-production wraps and promotional timelines lock in, Hero Ki Horrorine is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about launches of the year. Audiences can mark their calendars as the film hits cinema screens nationwide on January 7, 2027, promising a fresh cinematic spin on ghosts, romance, and situational comedy.
