Viineet Kumar Siingh Joins Akshay Kumar in Sci-Fi Survival Thriller Samuk

The ensemble of one of Indian cinema’s most ambitious genre projects is expanding with a heavy-hitter. Acclaimed actor Viineet Kumar Siingh has officially boarded the cast of Samuk, an upcoming sci-fi alien survival-action thriller headlined by superstar Akshay Kumar.

Directed by Kanishk Varma and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah under the banner of Sunshine Pictures (co-produced by Aashin A. Shah), the film marks a striking pivot into speculative fiction and creature-led survival horror. Speaking about bringing Siingh on board, a source close to the production noted:

“Viineet has a certain rawness and physicality, and the director felt he was the perfect choice for this character. His presence brings a different energy to the ensemble, and the part requires an actor who can bring intensity without overplaying it.”

A High-Stakes Collaboration and Global Scale

The casting of Viineet Kumar Siingh underscores a conscious creative decision by the makers to build a performance-driven core alongside high-concept visual spectacle. Known for intense, physically demanding roles in projects like Mukkabaaz, Chhaava, and Jaat, Siingh’s inclusion points toward a gritty, grounded dynamic sharing screen space with Akshay Kumar.

The project brings Akshay Kumar back together with producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah after a gap of over a decade, following their previous collaborations on blockbusters like Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty. Mounted on a grand international scale, Samuk has been in active development for more than two years and is currently shooting extensively in London.

Unpacking the Film’s Premise and Synopsis

While plot details and character specifics are tightly guarded, promotional and industry insights indicate that Samuk will venture into uncharted territory for mainstream Hindi cinema:

  • Genre Blend: The narrative uniquely combines military realism, survival horror, and alien mythology, attempting to ground otherworldly elements in tactical, high-stakes grit.
  • The Central Threat: Moving away from standard CGI tropes, the film features a meticulously crafted central alien entity designed by Academy Award-nominated creature effects designer Alec Gillis (renowned for the Alien and Predator franchises, as well as Alien: Romulus).
  • Action & Execution: British action director Luke Tumber has been brought on board to design and direct the visceral, high-octane survival sequences.

As the production unit presses ahead with its rigorous UK schedule, Samuk is being heavily anticipated as a benchmark visual spectacle, slated for a worldwide theatrical release in 2027.
