The rumour mill surrounding the much-awaited action thriller Race 4 has finally met with a formal clarification from the makers. Over the past few days, social media platforms and trade portals have been abuzz with unverified reports claiming that Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has been approached to headline the fourth instalment of the lucrative franchise and has supposedly given his nod after hearing the script.
These recent speculations followed a long line of earlier reports that had previously linked other Gen-Z and action stars, including Tiger Shroff and Sidharth Malhotra, to different stages of development for the lead role. Addressing the mounting chatter, producer Ramesh Taurani and production banner Tips Films have stepped forward to set the record straight.
Taking to social media via an official statement shared on Instagram, the production house addressed the waves of speculation directly. While the note did not explicitly single out Aamir Khan by name, it comprehensively put to rest all ongoing rumours by confirming that no actor has been locked in for the project yet.
The official statement read:
“We would like to clarify that the cast of Race 4 has not yet been finalized. We sincerely request the media and social media pages to refrain from speculation and from engaging with or circulating any unverified or false news regarding the cast.”
Urging fans and media networks to exercise restraint, the makers emphasized that formal updates will be shared strictly through authorized channels:
“Once the cast is finalized, we will make an official announcement from our end. Until then, we kindly request everyone to wait for an official confirmation before reporting or sharing any information.”
The Race franchise has historically generated massive box-office interest, making its casting developments a hot topic for Bollywood trade trackers.
- The Legacy: The franchise began with Saif Ali Khan anchoring the first two blockbuster instalments—Race (2008) and Race 2 (2013)—before Salman Khan took over the mantle as the lead for Race 3 (2018).
- The Rumour Mill: As pre-production on the fourth instalment progresses, various reports have floated multiple names across the industry, ranging from Aamir Khan to actors like Tiger Shroff and Sidharth Malhotra, alongside unverified chatter about directors and former cast members making unexpected returns.
With Ramesh Taurani’s clear-cut clarification, all ongoing narratives regarding lead casting are officially placed on hold. Until Tips Films makes a formal announcement, audiences and industry watchers will have to wait patiently to see who ultimately steps onto the tracks for Race 4.
