Rashmika Mandanna Health Update: Actress Opens Up About Her “Painful” Hip Injury and Forced Break

National crush and pan-India star Rashmika Mandanna has checked in with her fans, sharing a candid and detailed health update from her recovery period. The actress revealed that she is currently dealing with a painful hip injury that has forced her to take an unexpected break from work.

After being noticeably missing from active social media spaces, Rashmika returned with an emotional yet lighthearted Instagram post to explain the reason behind her absence, reassuring supporters that she is on the path to healing.

Rashmika suffered a serious hip tendon injury while gruelling through high-intensity dance and action sequences for her upcoming intense film, Mysaa. Doctors have advised her to undergo a strict six-week period of rest and physical rehabilitation.

Taking to social media to share her trademark cheerful outlook mixed with vulnerability, Rashmika wrote to her fans:

“Hie guyssss! 🥰❤️ Injuries suck.. 😩 and I was really hoping that no one will get to know.. but well 🐒🤷🏻‍♀️. Sorry I’ve been MIA 🐒 but hieeee! I’m hereeee! 🙋🏻‍♀️😁 It happened awhile ago ya and this is my 3rd injury back to back.. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I should definitely learn to treat my body like a human body and not some machine.. 🤦🏻‍♀️💆🏻‍♀️

Explaining the biology behind the setback, she joked about channeling her inner biology teacher: “So there are 4 tendons on each side of your hip that connects your hip to your leg and one of those tendons on my right hip apparently had detached… and this happened during my dance shoot for Mysaa.. my god that’s the most aggressive film I’ve ever done for sure! ❤️

Remaining optimistic about her forced holiday, she added that she has discovered an unexpected hidden talent for solving complex puzzles, though she humorously lamented her fear of turning into a “dessert monster” since heavy workouts and running are temporarily off-limits.

Despite taking a temporary pause to heal, Rashmika’s cinematic pipeline remains absolute gold. Aside from the high-octane action drama Mysaa, which features extensive underwater sequences and aggressive choreography, her upcoming slate boasts major pan-India blockbusters:

  • Ranabaali: A massive period action drama directed by Rahul Sankrityan, set against the backdrop of the British Raj and co-starring Vijay Deverakonda.
  • Pushpa 3: The Rampage: Reprising her iconic role as Srivalli alongside Allu Arjun in the final chapter of the mega-franchise.
  • Raaka: Starring Allu Arjun, Deepika Padukone, Directed by Atlee.

On the personal front, the year has brought monumental joy for the actress. Earlier this year on February 26, 2026, Rashmika tied the knot with longtime partner and co-star Vijay Deverakonda in a stunning, intimate destination wedding at the ITC Grand Bharat in Udaipur.

Affectionately dubbed ‘Virosh’ by millions of fans, the couple honoured their respective backgrounds by hosting dual traditional ceremonies—a sacred Telugu Hindu ritual in the morning followed by a graceful Kodava ceremony in the evening. Blending family warmth, royal aesthetics, and immense love from the fraternity, the celebrations marked a beautiful new milestone in their lives.

As Rashmika focuses on her physical therapy and recovery over the next few weeks, fans continue to shower her with love, wishing the star a swift and healthy return to the big screen.
