Bollywood actress Rimi Sen has taken legal action against the luxury car manufacturer Land Rover, filing a Rs 50 crore lawsuit over an allegedly faulty vehicle. Sen claims that the vehicle she purchased from Land Rover’s authorized dealer in Mumbai developed significant mechanical issues shortly after delivery, leading to inconvenience, financial loss, and emotional distress.
In her lawsuit, Sen alleges that the vehicle suffered from a series of problems, including Sunroof, Sound System and Rear Camera. These problems, she claims, rendered the vehicle unsafe to drive and caused her significant inconvenience and financial loss. Sen further alleges that despite repeated attempts to have the issues resolved by Land Rover’s authorized service centres, the company failed to address the problems satisfactorily.
Sen has accused Land Rover of negligence and breach of warranty. She claims that the company failed to deliver a vehicle that met the standards of quality and safety that one would expect from a luxury brand like Land Rover. The actress is seeking compensation for the financial losses she has incurred, including the cost of repairs, rental cars, and lost income due to the inconvenience caused by the faulty vehicle.
Rimi Sen has increased her demands in her lawsuit against Land Rover. Along with the Rs 50 crore compensation, Rimi Sen has also asked for an additional Rs 10 lakh to cover her legal expenses. Moreover, she is also requesting the replacement of the defective vehicle.
In addition to financial compensation, Sen is also seeking punitive damages to deter Land Rover from engaging in similar behaviour in the future. She believes that the company’s alleged negligence is a serious matter that requires a strong deterrent.
Land Rover has not yet issued a public statement in response to Sen’s lawsuit. Land Rover is expected to defend itself against the allegations and argue that it has fulfilled its obligations under the warranty. Both parties are expected to present their evidence and arguments as the case proceeds through the legal system.
Sen’s lawsuit against Land Rover has brought attention to the issue of faulty vehicles and the responsibilities of manufacturers to ensure the quality and safety of their products.
