Rajesh Khanna’s Granddaughter Naomika Saran Debuts Opposite Vedang Raina

Maddock Films Launches Rinke Khanna’s Daughter, Naomika Saran, Continuing the Illustrious Legacy of Dimple Kapadia and ‘Kaka’

Naomika Saran to debut opposite Vedang Raina

Bollywood witnesses the highly anticipated arrival of its newest star kid: Naomika Saran. The granddaughter of legendary actors late Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia, and daughter of actress Rinke Khanna, Naomika will make her grand cinematic debut opposite emerging star Vedang Raina. Hit producer Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, a banner synonymous with modern romantic comedies, will produce the film, cementing one of the most exciting debut launches in recent memory.

Naomika Saran, who has maintained a relatively low profile despite her illustrious lineage, recently sparked fervent speculation with her frequent appearances at the Maddock Films office. Industry sources now confirm the debut, revealing that the untitled film will be a breezy, youth-centric romantic comedy, a genre Maddock Films has successfully redefined with hits like Luka Chuppi and Zara Hatke Zara Bachke.

Dinesh Vijan and his team are known for their strategic approach to launching new talent, and Naomika’s debut is no exception. Sources indicate that the film is set to go on floors by mid-2026, suggesting a deliberate, long-term preparation plan for the star kid.

“Naomika has been intensively training over the past year, undergoing rigorous acting and dance workshops,” a source close to the production confirms. “Dinesh and his team made the clear decision not to announce her debut until she was completely ready to face the camera.”

The project will reportedly be helmed by a new director from the Maddock Films stable, upholding Vijan’s tradition of nurturing fresh directorial voices. This pairing of a legacy newcomer with a new-age director suggests a contemporary take on classic Bollywood romance.

Naomika will share the screen with Vedang Raina, the young actor who first caught attention in Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies and recently impressed audiences in Jigra.

Interestingly, the male lead role was initially written for another prominent star kid, Agastya Nanda. However, after subsequent discussions and scheduling adjustments, the makers fixed their gaze on Vedang Raina. The source adds, “Vedang and Naomika have great chemistry. When the team saw them together in rehearsals, the casting just clicked perfectly. Vedang is currently busy shooting for an Imtiaz Ali film and will move onto this project next.”

Their pairing promises to bring a vibrant, youthful energy to the screen, capitalising on the natural screen presence of both the actors.

Naomika Saran steps into Bollywood as the third generation of one of Hindi cinema’s most respected families. She is the daughter of former actress Rinke Khanna, who made her debut in Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi (1998), and businessman Sameer Saran.

Her familial roots run deep in the industry’s history:

  • Grandfather (late): Rajesh Khanna, the industry’s first ‘superstar’ fondly known as ‘Kaka’.
  • Grandmother: Dimple Kapadia, a National Award winner and celebrated actress who continues to deliver powerful performances.
  • Aunt & Uncle: Naomika is the niece of writer-entrepreneur Twinkle Khanna and superstar Akshay Kumar.

Naomika has frequently been praised by fans and the media for her striking resemblance to her grandmother, Dimple Kapadia, and her light eyes, a trait she shares with her cousin Aarav Bhatia. Having largely stayed away from the public eye, she recently completed her education, and reports suggest she is studying the arts at an esteemed university.

With the backing of Dinesh Vijan’s powerhouse production house and the weight of a legendary film family, Naomika Saran’s debut opposite the promising Vedang Raina marks a significant milestone. The industry and audiences alike eagerly await this new chapter in the Bollywood dynasty.
