The recently released “Housefull 5” is making headlines not just for its impressive box office collection but also for a brewing controversy. Dance influencer and Content Creator Sandip Brahamin has accused choreographer Remo D’Souza of copying his signature dance step in the film’s chartbuster song “Laal Pari” without proper credit. This allegation comes as “Housefull 5” celebrates a spectacular opening weekend, grossing ₹91.83 crore and crossing the ₹100 crore mark by Monday.
“Laal Pari” Dance Step Under Scrutiny: Is It Copied?
“Laal Pari,” a vibrant song from “Housefull 5,” has quickly become a fan favourite, dominating music charts since its launch. However, its popularity now faces a significant challenge. Dance influencer Sandip Brahamin has stepped forward, claiming that the song features a dance step strikingly similar to his widely recognized “signature move,” for which he has received no acknowledgment or credit.
Brahamin articulated his dismay, stating, “You have seen my move. My signature move has been copied. Today, suddenly, many of my fans messaged me on Instagram saying, ‘Sir, I have seen your move copied somewhere.’ Guys, I checked Instagram and YouTube, and there’s a song called ‘Laal Pari’ from the ‘Housefull 5’ movie where they copied my dance move. They haven’t mentioned or credited me.”
Sandip Brahamin Provides “Proof” of Prior Use
To substantiate his claim, Sandip Brahamin provided evidence in the form of his older videos, which clearly show him performing the “shaking head” step he alleges has been plagiarized. He contends that his content made this particular dance move famous among his followers and beyond. The influencer’s video, directly comparing his original content with the “Laal Pari” sequence, has gone viral, fuelling discussions across social media platforms about creative ownership and plagiarism in the entertainment industry.
Remo D’Souza and “Housefull 5” Team Yet to Respond
As of now, choreographer Remo D’Souza, who choreographed “Laal Pari,” and the makers of “Housefull 5” have not issued any official statement regarding Sandip Brahamin’s allegations. The silence from the film’s team has only intensified the debate online, with fans and fellow content creators demanding a response and appropriate credit if the claims hold true.
Despite the burgeoning controversy, “Housefull 5” continues its triumphant run at the box office. The film, which premiered on June 6, 2025, starring an expansive ensemble including Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Fardeen Khan, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Sanjay Dutt, Jacqueline Fernandez, and more, has demonstrated remarkable commercial success.
Housefull 5: Box Office Strong, But Public Scrutiny Mounts
“Housefull 5” also made headlines for its innovative release strategy, presenting two distinct versions: “Housefull 5A” and “Housefull 5B.” Each version features a different climax and reveals a different killer, offering audiences a unique interactive experience and potentially encouraging repeat viewings. This creative approach seems to have resonated well with the audience, contributing to the film’s strong box office performance.
The plagiarism accusation against “Laal Pari” adds a new layer to the “Housefull 5” narrative, pushing the film into an unexpected spotlight. As fans celebrate the movie’s success, they also keenly watch for a response from the filmmakers and choreographer regarding the alleged copying of dance steps.
