Joining them are Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Chitrangada Singh, Fardeen Khan, Chunky Pandey, Johnny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Ranjeet, Soundarya Sharma, Nikitin Dheer, and Akashdeep Sabir.
The trailer gives us a glimpse of what promises to be a hilariously chaotic mystery filled with mistaken identities, spooky mansions, ridiculous disguises, and over-the-top antics. Fans can expect classic Housefull-style humour, but with an unexpected narrative twist that elevates the film’s rewatchability factor.
Housefull 5 Trailer Hints at Hilarious Murder Mystery Aboard a Cruise
The newly launched trailer provides a glimpse into the film’s premise, which revolves around a chaotic murder mystery set aboard a luxurious cruise ship. A billionaire’s 100th birthday celebration turns into a whodunit when he dies, leaving Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, and Riteish Deshmukh’s characters as prime suspects. Sanjay Dutt and Jackie Shroff appear as the investigating police duo, adding their own brand of humour to the unfolding madness. The trailer promises the franchise’s signature blend of slapstick comedy, witty dialogues, and over-the-top situations, all while navigating a thrilling plot.
A First in Indian Cinema: Two Endings, Two Killers
In a never-before-seen move in Indian commercial cinema, Sajid Nadiadwala has submitted two versions of Housefull 5 to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC): ‘Housefull 5’ and ‘Housefull 5A’. Each version features the same story with a twist in the climax, where the killer’s identity changes.
“If the killer is X in Housefull 5, the killer will be Y in Housefull 5A,” revealed a source close to the production.
This innovative move aims to encourage repeat viewing, giving audiences a fresh experience in the last 20 minutes. The creators are calling it a “double climax strategy” and expect it to be a game-changer in the box office business model for comedies.
Sajid Nadiadwala: “We Wanted to Create a Unique Viewing Experience”
In a press statement following the trailer launch, producer Sajid Nadiadwala said:
“After four successful films, we wanted to push the envelope for Housefull 5. The idea of two endings came from our desire to give the audience something they’ve never experienced before. It’s a fun, family entertainer that now comes with a mystery twist.”
Director Tarun Mansukhani also added:
“It’s like playing Cluedo on the big screen! We had a blast shooting this one, and the alternate endings were particularly fun to direct. Each ending brings out a different flavour of comedy and suspense.”
Massive Release Plans for Housefull 5
With a release date locked for June 6, 2025, the marketing team has planned a massive promotional blitz, including city tours, cast reunions, comedy show integrations, and interactive online campaigns. Viewers will be able to choose between Housefull 5 and Housefull 5A in select theatres — and eventually stream both on digital platforms.
The producers also plan to engage audiences through polls and fan theories around “Who’s the real killer?” to amplify the mystery element across social media platforms like Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and YouTube Shorts.
