The woman, identified as a resident of Delhi and a self-proclaimed “die-hard fan,” reportedly created a scene demanding to meet the Bollywood superstar to marry him.
According to reports, the woman arrived at the farmhouse and expressed her fervent desire to marry Salman Khan. However, the actor was not present at the property at the time. Concerned by the situation, neighbours and staff at the farmhouse immediately contacted the Panvel Taluka police station. News reports also mention that villagers filmed the incident, possibly as evidence of the woman’s claims.
Taking no chances, especially in light of recent threats against Khan, the police swiftly reached the farmhouse and detained the woman for her safety and well-being. Authorities later transferred her to the Social and Evangelical Association for Love (SEAL), a non-governmental organization (NGO) known for providing counselling and support.
Details about the woman’s state of mind remain undisclosed by authorities, but reports from the NGO, based on their initial interactions, suggest she might require assistance. “She refused to listen to us and kept saying she wanted to marry Khan. She appeared to be deeply infatuated with his screen image.”
The incident raises questions about the fine line between fandom and obsession. Salman Khan enjoys a massive fan following in India, and his larger-than-life persona has captivated audiences for decades. However, this intense adoration can sometimes manifest in concerning ways.
The woman’s actions come amidst heightened security measures surrounding Salman Khan due to alleged threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. In May, Mumbai police arrested four individuals suspected of plotting an attack on the actor at his Panvel farmhouse.
