Dhurandhar: The Revenge Trailer Launch Set for March 3: Makers Opt for Digital Premiere

The storm is officially approaching. After rewriting box office history with the first installment, the makers of the cinematic juggernaut Dhurandhar: The Revenge have confirmed that the official trailer will debut on March 3, 2026. In a strategic pivot that has surprised industry insiders, the production team has decided to skip a traditional physical mega-event in favour of a massive global digital launch.

This sequel to the 2024 blockbuster Dhurandhar is currently the most talked-about project in Indian cinema. With the theatrical release locked for March 19, 2026, the digital trailer drop marks the final countdown for what experts predict will be a historic opening weekend.

The decision to go digital-first comes as a departure from the franchise’s previous promotional style. For the first part, Jio Studios and B62 Studios hosted one of the most extravagant trailer launches in recent memory at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC). That event saw over 2,000 screaming Ranveer Singh fans witness the first glimpse of the spy-thriller alongside the entire star cast.

While many expected a similar spectacle for the sequel, the makers are reportedly prioritizing an “immediate global reach” to cater to the film’s massive international fan base. By dropping the trailer directly on digital platforms, the team aims to shatter 24-hour viewership records and capitalize on the organic viral buzz that has been building since the first film’s cult success.

The primary reason for the “Dhurandhar mania” is its unprecedented cast. The sequel reunites a powerhouse of talent that few films can match:

  • Ranveer Singh: Returns in his deadliest avatar yet as the spy Jasikirat Singh Rangi (aka Hamza Ali Mazari).
  • Akshaye Khanna & Sanjay Dutt: Reprise their roles as the formidable opposition, bringing a gravitas that defined the first film.
  • R. Madhavan & Arjun Rampal: Add layers of tactical brilliance and grit to the high-stakes narrative.
  • Sara Arjun & Rakesh Bedi: Play pivotal roles that drive the emotional core of the “Revenge” arc.

Director Aditya Dhar, the mastermind behind Uri: The Surgical Strike, once again takes the helm. Sources close to the production suggest that Dhar has pushed the envelope even further this time, utilizing the back-to-back filming schedule to maintain a seamless and intense tone across both parts.

While the public waits for March 3, some have already witnessed the magic. Actor Yami Gautam Dhar recently shared her reaction to the sequel at the News18 Rising Bharat Summit 2026. Having watched an early cut of the film, she described the experience as deeply moving and “beyond extraordinary.”

“I have already watched Dhurandhar 2. It is beyond extraordinary. I was really emotional,” Yami stated, adding that the film represents Aditya Dhar’s life’s effort to deliver an unforgettable cinematic experience.

Her endorsement has added another layer of credibility to the hype, especially as she noted that she read the initial script while filming Article 370 and knew immediately that this story would leave a lasting impact.

Dhurandhar: The Revenge is a collaborative titan produced by Jyoti Deshpande of Jio Studios alongside Aditya Dhar and Lokesh Dhar of B62 Studios. This partnership has proven to be golden, as the first part emerged as the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2025.

The sequel’s scale is rumoured to be even larger, with a reported runtime that could make it one of the longest Indian films in recent years—allowing the complex political and criminal syndicate narrative to breathe without compromise.

The March 19 release date sets the stage for the biggest box office clash of 2026. Dhurandhar: The Revenge will go head-to-head with Yash’s ‘Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups’.

With Ranveer Singh’s spy-thriller and the KGF star’s dark actioner releasing on the same day, theaters across India are bracing for a logistical whirlwind. However, given that Dhurandhar is an established franchise with a massive returning audience, industry analysts believe there is room for both films to create a combined box office “explosion.”

Expectations for the trailer are sky-high. Fans are looking for a deeper look into Ranveer Singh’s transformation, the high-octane action sequences filmed across Thailand and Ladakh, and the eventual resolution of the cliffhanger left by the first part.
