In a monumental move to bridge regional boundaries and cater to changing consumer entertainment consumption habits, Zee Studios has officially unveiled its expansive, multi-genre content slate for 2026–27. Spanning Hindi, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Gujarati, Kannada, and other regional languages, the studio’s newly announced lineup underscores a definitive commitment to unconventional storytelling and deep market penetration across India.
Rather than relying on a singular, one-size-fits-all formula, the studio’s strategy leverages local talent, regional nuances, and distinct creative ecosystems to connect with diverse demographics.
The Hindi-language segment of the announcement packs immense nostalgic value alongside gritty, contemporary narratives. Headlining the commercial blockbusters is Baap, an action-packed entertainer bringing together four iconic veterans of Indian cinema: Sunny Deol, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, and Mithun Chakraborty.
Other major highlights in the Hindi portfolio include:
- Shri Ram Bhoomi: A historical and mythology-driven drama starring Anupam Kher, Ritwik Bhowmik, and Amruta Khanvilkar under the direction of Kamakhya Narayan Singh.
- Delhi 2021: A hard-hitting investigative project featuring Richa Chadha.
- Blind Babu: A suspenseful drama led by powerhouse actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, alongside Pavan Malhotra and Zakir Hussain.
- Silaa and Blind Game: Adding further variety with names like Harshvardhan Rane, Sadia Khateeb, Arjun Rampal, and Priyamani.
Zee Studios is significantly ramping up its footprint in southern cinematic markets by teaming up with top-tier talent and bankable stars across Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada industries.
- Telugu Lineup: The studio has lined up high-octane blockbusters, including NBK111 starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, directed by Gopichand Malineni, alongside Indraputra starring Kiran Abbavaram. The roster also features Kanaka Durga, Anasuya General Stores, and January 12 Vidudala, which brings together Venkatesh Daggubati, Keerthy Suresh, and Kalyan Ram.
- Tamil Lineup: The slate highlights Hi, starring Nayanthara and Kavin, directed by Vishnu Edavan, alongside Sathyavan Savithri, featuring Keerthy Suresh and Mysskin.
- Kannada Lineup: The studio is backing Anna From Mexico, headlined by Dhananjaya and Reeshma Nanaiah.
Demonstrating its intent to nurture and scale emerging regional theatrical circuits, Zee Studios is officially stepping into Gujarati cinema with its debut production, Tom and Cherry, starring Siddharth Randeria and Dhanya Doshi.
Meanwhile, Marathi cinema continues to serve as a cornerstone of the studio’s regional strategy. Building on the national-award recognition achieved by past gems like Aatmapamphlet, the upcoming Marathi slate boasts strong projects such as Jhep, Phulwara, Maan, and Jogai.
