The wait is over! Acclaimed director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s grand series “Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar” finally has a release date. In a dazzling display, Netflix and Bhansali unveiled the premiere date with a mesmerising drone light show over Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Race Course.
“Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar” will premiere on Netflix on May 1st.
The highly anticipated series marks Bhansali’s debut in the OTT space. The announcement event was attended by media representatives, college students, and the leading cast of the show. The dazzling “heeras” of Heeramandi – actors Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal, and Sanjeeda Shaikh – were present alongside Prerna Singh, CEO of Bhansali Productions, and Tanya Bami, Series Head for Netflix India.
The series promises to be a visual spectacle, with Bhansali’s signature grandeur and storytelling expertise. The show reportedly explores the lives of courtesans in pre-independence India’s Lahore, shedding light on a fascinating chapter in history.
