The highly-anticipated collaboration between Ayushmann Khurrana and Rajshri Productions has officially been titled ‘Yeh Prem Mol Liya’. The romantic family drama, which pairs Khurrana with rising star Sharvari for the first time, officially commenced filming in Mumbai on November 1, 2025.
Initially rumoured to be titled Prem Ki Shaadi, the confirmed new title, ‘Yeh Prem Mol Liya,’ hints at a deeper, possibly more complex take on love and relationships than Rajshri’s traditional fare, a direction director Sooraj Barjatya has reportedly decided to explore. The film is presented and produced by Rajshri Productions in association with Mahaveer Jain Films and Anita Gurnani.
Filming for the movie began in a traditional Rajshri style, with a week-long shoot for a grand, festive song sequence in Kandivli, Mumbai, featuring the lead pair, the extensive ensemble cast, and over 200 background dancers. This song is said to capture the essence of the film’s world and introduce the characters in a joyous, signature Barjatya manner.
Following the initial song shoot, the team has now transitioned into a massive 60-day start-to-finish schedule at Mehboob Studios in Mumbai. The studio’s three floors have been meticulously converted into elaborate indoor sets, where the crew plans to shoot almost 80% of the entire film. This long, continuous schedule is intended to maintain creative continuity and capture the emotional graph of the story in one seamless flow, with the production aiming to wrap up by January 2026.
Ayushmann Khurrana steps into the leading role, reportedly embodying the quintessential Rajshri hero, affectionately known as ‘Prem.’ This marks a significant turn for Khurrana, who is known for his unconventional, social-comedy genre films, offering him a fresh canvas of pure, contemporary romance within a large family setting.
His pairing with Sharvari, who recently delivered a breakthrough performance in the horror-comedy Munjya, promises a vibrant and fresh on-screen chemistry. The director and producers are banking on this new duo to resonate with both Rajshri’s loyal audience base and Khurrana’s massive youth following.
