Following the massive success of supernatural thrillers like Shaitaan, superstar Ajay Devgn is doubling down on the horror genre. Industry sources confirm that Devgn has signed a high-stakes horror film titled Griha Pravesh. The project, which has already generated significant buzz in trade circles, marks a fresh collaboration between the actor and acclaimed director Rohit Jugraj.
While Devgn is currently busy with his signature high-octane comedies and action franchises, Griha Pravesh represents his commitment to exploring diverse, spine-chilling narratives. The film is presently in the pre-production phase, with the creative team finalizing the atmospheric details necessary for a top-tier horror experience.
In a move that highlights the film’s grand scale, the makers have decided to skip domestic locations in favour of the United Kingdom. Ajay Devgn will shoot the entirety of Griha Pravesh in the UK in a rigorous, start-to-finish schedule.
The choice of location suggests a gothic or atmospheric horror setting, moving away from the rural Indian heartland seen in some of his previous supernatural outings. By opting for a continuous shooting block, director Rohit Jugraj aims to maintain the intensity of the performances and ensure a cohesive visual language for the film. Production experts believe this “marathon” filming style helps actors stay immersed in the dark, psychological demands of the horror genre.
The project brings together a powerhouse technical team. Rohit Jugraj, known for his versatile work in both Hindi and Punjabi cinema (including the hit Sardaar Ji series and the recent musical thriller Chamak), takes the directorial reins. Jugraj previously assisted on the sets of the horror classic Bhoot, which famously starred Ajay Devgn, making this a “full-circle” moment for the director.
Producing the film is Devgn’s long-time collaborator and veteran filmmaker Kumar Mangat Pathak via Panorama Studios. Mangat has been the force behind some of Ajay’s most successful ventures, including the Drishyam and Raid franchises. Their partnership has consistently delivered box-office gold, and Griha Pravesh is expected to follow suit.
While pre-production for Griha Pravesh moves at a brisk pace, Ajay Devgn is currently occupied on the sets of Golmaal 5 in Mumbai. The latest installment of the beloved Rohit Shetty franchise has recently made headlines for its massive casting coup: the addition of Akshay Kumar to the “OG” gang.
The energy on the Mumbai sets is reportedly electric as Devgn and Kumar reunite for a full-fledged comedy for the first time in their careers. Along with Arshad Warsi, Kunal Kemmu, Shreyas Talpade, Sharman Joshi and Tusshar Kapoor, the duo is currently filming high-energy sequences. This project marks a significant milestone as the franchise celebrates its 20th anniversary since the release of the original Golmaal: Fun Unlimited.
Fans of the “Singham” star have a lot to look forward to over the next two years. While Griha Pravesh is expected to move into active production shortly after the UK schedule is locked, the Rohit Shetty directed Golmaal 5 is already slated for a 2027 release in cinema halls worldwide.
With Griha Pravesh, Ajay Devgn continues to prove that he is a master of all genres. Whether he is making audiences roar with laughter in Mumbai or sending chills down their spines in the United Kingdom, his presence ensures a “must-watch” status for any project. As he balances the madness of Golmaal with the eerie silence of a horror epic, 2026 and 2027 are shaping up to be landmark years for the superstar.
