Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi’s family was struck by tragedy on Saturday, April 20th, 2024, when his brother-in-law, Rajesh Tiwari (known fondly as Munna Tiwari), passed away in a car accident. Tripathi’s sister, Sabita Tiwari, was also injured in the incident.
How it happened:
The accident happened around 4:30 pm near Nirsa Bazar in Dhanbad, Jharkhand. According to police reports, Rajesh Tiwari, who was driving the car, lost control of the vehicle and collided with a divider. The cause of the accident is still under investigation, but a source suggests it might have involved avoiding an auto-rickshaw at Nirsa Chowk.
Following the accident, bystanders and authorities rushed both Rajesh and Sabita Tiwari to the Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) in Dhanbad. Sadly, Rajesh Tiwari succumbed to his injuries upon arrival, leaving his family and loved ones in mourning.
Pankaj Tripathi, known for his stellar performances in films like “Sacred Games” and “Mirzapur,” has yet to make a public statement regarding the accident. However, an outpouring of condolences has emerged from fans and fellow celebrities on social media.
Sabita Tiwari, who reportedly sustained a leg fracture, is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital and is said to be out of danger.
This tragic event comes just eight months after Pankaj Tripathi mourned the loss of his father, Pandit Banaras Tiwari, who passed away peacefully at the age of 99 in August 2023.
While the exact cause is being investigated, factors like speeding, reckless driving, and avoiding proper road signage can all contribute to such accidents.
Tripathi’s family is undoubtedly going through a tough time. Messages of support and well wishes have flooded social media platforms, offering condolences for Rajesh Tiwari and strength to Sabita Tiwari during her recovery.
